On February 20, 2026, ZUBARA had the distinct honour of hosting the Director, Rivers State Ministry of Agriculture and his team at our farm locations in Omademe and Ozuoha, Rivers State.
The visit was both significant and encouraging, not only for our organization, but for what it represents in the broader context of agricultural development in Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole.
A Visit Rooted in Purpose
From the moment the delegation arrived, the tone of the engagement was constructive and forward-looking. The tour provided an opportunity for the Ministry’s leadership to observe our farm operations firsthand, moving beyond reports and presentations to see the systems in action.
Across both locations, discussions focused on how structure, planning, and operational discipline can transform agricultural output. The Director and his team took time to understand our production processes, farm layout systems, crop management practices, and the internal frameworks that guide our day-to-day operations. Questions were thoughtful and practical, reflecting a shared concern for scalability, sustainability, and long-term impact.
For ZUBARA, the visit created space for meaningful dialogue. We were able to explain not just what we are doing, but why we are doing it and how each system is intentionally designed to strengthen productivity while maintaining environmental responsibility.
Beyond Production: Building Systems and People
One of the central themes of the engagement was the importance of structured farm management. Agriculture thrives when it is organized, data-driven, and professionally managed. During the tour, conversations explored how clear processes, accountability systems, and defined operational models can reduce inefficiencies and improve outcomes.
The Ministry’s team also expressed strong interest in our training and capacity development initiatives. At ZUBARA, we believe that true agricultural transformation goes beyond crop yield. It includes equipping young people and emerging farmers with practical knowledge, technical skills, and exposure to modern farming systems.
By integrating training with real-time farm operations, we aim to create an environment where learning is practical, structured, and results-oriented. This dual focus, production and capacity development positions ZUBARA not just as a farm enterprise, but as a platform for agricultural empowerment.
Youth Engagement and the Future of Agriculture
Another important aspect of the discussions centered on youth participation in agriculture. Rivers State, like many regions across Nigeria, holds immense agricultural potential. However, unlocking that potential requires engaging young people in meaningful, profitable, and professionally managed agribusiness models.
During the visit, we shared how structured systems can make agriculture more attractive to young entrepreneurs. When farming is organized, measurable, and commercially viable, it shifts perception from subsistence activity to strategic enterprise.
The Director and his team acknowledged the importance of building an ecosystem where innovation, mentorship, and institutional support work together. Such collaboration is essential to strengthening food systems and ensuring long-term economic resilience.
A Milestone for ZUBARA
While the visit was formal in nature, it carried deeper meaning for our team. It served as recognition of the progress we are making and the relevance of our work within the agricultural landscape of Rivers State.
Every system we develop, every structure we build, and every training session we conduct is part of a larger commitment, to operate with transparency, professionalism, and measurable impact. The visit affirmed that this commitment is visible and valued.
It also motivates us to continue improving. Agriculture is constantly evolving. Best practices shift. Technology advances. Markets change. To remain effective, we must continue refining our systems and expanding our impact.
Looking Ahead
As agriculture in Rivers State continues to evolve, partnerships and shared vision between institutions and agribusiness operators will remain essential. Collaboration strengthens resilience. Structure enhances productivity. Innovation drives growth.
ZUBARA remains dedicated to building agricultural systems that are productive, sustainable, and empowering for farmers and communities alike. We are committed to contributing meaningfully to food security, youth development, and economic progress across the state.
We sincerely appreciate the time, engagement, and insight shared by the Rivers State Ministry of Agriculture during their visit. We look forward to continued collaboration as we work together to advance agricultural development and build a stronger agricultural future for Rivers State.
